JACKSONVILLE, FL — With child drowning deaths in Florida being at an all-time high in 2021, Northeast Florida’s premiere swim school led by a two-time Olympian is taking a water safety initiative by offering free swim assessments to the Jacksonville community. AQUAfin Swim School welcomes local families to visit its Back to School Open House event – July 30th and 31st from 8am to 1pm – to learn about swimming and water safety before the summer ends.

EVENT DETAILS
WHEN: July 30-31; 8am-1pm both days

WHERE:
Mandarin Swim School: 3993 San Jose Park Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32217

St. John’s Swim School: 2006 St. Johns Bluff Road S, Jacksonville, FL 32246

St. Augustine Swim School: 130 Center Place Way, St. Augustine, FL 32095

During the assessment, AQUAfin’s certified instructors will test each swimmer’s current skill set and place them in the appropriate level based on AQUAfin’s proven, progress-based curriculum. Once the child’s swim level is established, AQUAfin staff will discuss the customized plan of what the child’s swim journey will look like.

“Unlike our other open houses that we hold every weekend, this will be during our fifth week when we don’t have regular lessons,” said AQUAfin Founder and two-time Olympian Nim Shapira. “This will allow families to better engage with our staff to ask questions and tour our state-of-the-art facilities before their schedules fill up again when school starts.”

Each AQUAfin swim school has heated indoor pools and high-quality purification systems to offer year-round swim lessons seven days a week, rain or shine. Lessons are progress-based with a small class ratio (1:4), with parent and tot classes (1:8) starting as early as 2 months old, and adult classes. Private one-on-one lessons are also available.

To participate in a free swim assessment, parents must create an account at the appropriate location through AQUAfin’s website: aquafinswimschool.com/free-trial. Families may sign up for a free assessment prior to the Back to School event.
